Screen 1 (10 mins)

DESCRIPTION

Gks starting warm-up by jogging inside the 18 yrds box x 3, with dynamic runs

Go over the speed ladder with 1 out two in drill

After the speed ladder they will shuffle around the poles with a three short steps out,three shor steps in

after the fourth pole they will hop over the hurdles, Let foot,right foot.

Go over the speed ladder again, but this time laterally. (one foot in,one foot out), as soon as the GK

finish the second ladder, get the soccer ball and dribble it acros the field, and the end make a long pass for the next GK.(soon the GK pass it, He/She will jogging and start all the circuit sequence again.

(repeat this circuit 3 times.)

Streching before go to functional technical warm up.

COACHING POINTS:

1. proper foot work ( no flat foot jogging)

2. Coordinate arms and foot movement

3. Lateral agility

Screen 2 (10 mins)

DESCRIPTION

GKs will perform quick foot work , and flexibility by touching at each cone and at the base of the poles,

prior to catch the ball from the server.(CIRCUIT 1)

Gks will perform a variety of quick foot work, and saves,by starting going around and over the cones, again touching the base of the pole prior to make a ground save,(PROGRESSION FROM GROUND TO CHEST AND HIGH BALLS SAVES) (CIRCUIT 2)

SET UP CIRCUIT 1

three cones set up in a triangle shape, with 3 yrds apart from each other, a set of two poles as a goal post mark, also three yrds from the cones and 5 yrds from each other.

DRILL DESCRIPTION

At the coach command, the GK will quickly shuffle to each cone (angle shuffle) and touch at each cone for flexibility, after the GK touch the third cone, he/she will take a quick step up and make a save from the server, that will serve a ball into the GK body frame.( 3 reps. per GK )

Progression from body frame to shuffle R/L body frame, ground saves R/L

CIRCUIT 2 SET UP

Two poles 6 yrds a part, five cones 2 yards apart (distance where the GKs can step in between the cones

DESCRIPTION

At the coach command the GK quickly move his/hers feet around the cones with a variety of foot work(shufflig,forward and back,Diagonaly, and last hopping), at the end of each cone the GK quickly touche the pole and perform saves from the ground up. After the GKs perform this circuit making R. side saves, they will move he cones to the L. and start all over again.(3 reps per GKs)

COACHING POINTS

1.Right footwork mobility

2. GK must keep his eyes on the field all the time

3. Good body/foot dynamics during saves

4. Must call "KEEPER" when ready to perform the saves.(communication)
